Starting with a small non-league club, the chairman hires and dismisses managers, controls transfer and wage budgets, expands facilities, sets ticket prices, and tries to climb through multiple divisions. Matches are resolved quickly, so an entire season can pass in a short session.

The speed creates an effective long-term arc: a modest stand becomes a larger stadium, youth and training improve, and reputation gradually attracts stronger staff and players. Decisions have consequences across years rather than one fixture. The manager handles formations and individual transfers within the limits provided.

This separation is the game’s distinctive choice and occasional frustration. A chairman can fund a strong squad but still watch poor results without a detailed tactical screen explaining every failure. Replacing the manager may help, but also costs compensation and disrupts stability.
