Black Myth: Wukong follows the Destined One through a world inspired by Journey to the West, Chinese folklore, Buddhist imagery, and regional myth. The narrative often assumes cultural or literary context, presenting characters and consequences through short scenes, journal entries, songs, and chapter endings rather than continuous explanation. Even when the plot is difficult to follow, its creatures and landscapes carry a strong identity.
