Players switch freely between daytime and nighttime sessions, each supporting a different progression loop. Day races are sanctioned events that award Bank for cars and parts.

Night races earn Reputation and increase Heat, unlocking progression while attracting increasingly aggressive police. Returning safely to a garage banks the night's reputation; being busted or wrecked ends the session with penalties. This split creates the game's best tension.
