Cyberpunk 2077 Review, Guide & Beginner Tips

Cyberpunk 2077 has grown into an excellent first-person RPG with memorable characters, flexible combat builds, dense quests, and a striking Night City. The current version is far stronger than its 2020 launch, though uneven open-world systems and demanding hardware remain important caveats.

Cyberpunk 2077 follows mercenary V after a heist leaves a digital construct of rocker Johnny Silverhand inside their mind. The search for survival moves through Night City's corporations, gangs, fixers, and marginalized communities. Main and side quests frequently present strong character work, especially through Judy, Panam, River, Kerry, Takemura, and Johnny.

Combat supports guns, melee weapons, stealth, quickhacking, cyberware, and hybrid builds. Later updates rebuilt perks, police behavior, vehicle combat, loot, and progression, making specialization clearer. The Phantom Liberty expansion adds Dogtown, a tightly paced spy story, and some of the game's strongest choices.

Night City is visually extraordinary but less interactive than its density suggests. Crowds and traffic create atmosphere rather than deep simulation, while repeated gigs and scanner events vary in narrative quality. Performance is now stable on supported modern systems, but ray tracing and high settings still require powerful hardware.

Last-generation console versions did not receive the complete overhaul. Cyberpunk 2077 is now easy to recommend as a story-driven action RPG, provided buyers verify platform support and do not expect every street to function as a systemic sandbox.

Choose a background for role-playing flavor, then build attributes around a clear style. Reflexes supports mobility and blades, Intelligence supports quickhacks, Technical Ability expands cyberware and items, Body improves durability and heavy combat, and Cool strengthens stealth and precision. Use cover, cameras, hacking, vertical routes, and environmental devices before entering a crowded area.

Upgrade cyberware at ripperdocs and read capacity requirements rather than equipping every high-rarity item. Dismantle or sell unused gear according to crafting needs. Complete side jobs for character stories and useful rewards, but do not clear every map icon before advancing the main plot.

Save before major choices and maintain several manual saves. Confirm that the platform supports version 2.x and Phantom Liberty if those features matter; older consoles remain on an earlier branch. Quickhacking builds should control cameras and isolate targets before tracing begins, while melee builds need movement cyberware and stamina support.

Visit ripperdocs after major level milestones. During vehicle sections, use the correct camera and reduce speed before dense traffic because handling differs sharply between cars.
