Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a generous action RPG retelling of the full Z saga with spectacular battles, exploration, side stories, and strong fan service. Repetitive open-world tasks and uneven RPG systems hold it back, but its major fights capture the anime well.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot follows Goku and other fighters through the Saiyan, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu arcs. Cinematic scenes recreate iconic moments, while quieter sections allow fishing, eating, collecting, training, and speaking with supporting characters. The story remains familiar, but its scale makes the game an accessible way to revisit Dragon Ball Z.

Combat takes place in large 3D arenas with melee strings, ki blasts, dodges, guards, transformations, and super attacks. Party members assist, skill trees improve techniques, and Community Boards provide passive bonuses through character emblems. Major bosses deliver strong spectacle.

Open areas are less convincing. Collectible orbs, repeated enemies, simple fetch quests, and sparse environments feel like connective material between story chapters. Combat can become visually chaotic, and statistics often matter less than learning a few efficient patterns.

DLC expands into later films, Super material, and additional stories, with package contents varying by edition. Kakarot is easiest to recommend to fans who value a thorough playable retelling more than a deep open-world RPG. Quiet domestic scenes and optional character interactions give the adaptation texture beyond its famous transformations.

Follow the main story while completing nearby side stories before their chapter window closes. Collect Z Orbs naturally during travel rather than chasing every trail. Spend them on frequently used super attacks and upgrades.

In combat, block or dodge enemy sequences, use melee to build ki opportunities, then launch supers during safe openings. Break guard or stun gauges for longer damage windows. Keep healing items equipped for major fights.
